Director General
Tomislav Tuntev Ph.D., Director General of the Civil Aviation Agency
On the ground of a decision of the Management Board of the Civil Aviation Agency, on January 9, 2019, Mr. Tomislav Tuntev Ph.D, officially took up the role of Director General of the Civil Aviation Agency of the Republic of North Macedonia.
Mr. Tuntev was born on 7th of July 1967, in Ohrid, where he completed his primary and secondary education.
In 1991 he graduated at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering at the University of Belgrade, and was named the best student of the generation 1986 – 1991.
As a bachelor of science in air transport he has continuously upgraded in his education, so in 2006 he received a master’s degree and in 2009 he became a doctor of science in the field of technical sciences at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Bitola.
During his professional career he has performed functions of toplevel management at the airports in Ohrid and Skopje.
Since 1996 he has been regularly engaged as a lecturer, and later on as a professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Bitola.
Before being appointed Director General of the Civil Aviation Agency, he was a coordinator of the parliamentary group of the SDSM. He was elected as a Member of Parliament in the parliamentary elections in 2016
Mr. Tuntev, within the framework of the parliamentary authorities, was a member of various parliamentary bodies and committees for co-operation with numerous international parliamentary institutions.
His professional portfolio includes membership in the Council of Municipality Ohrid, management with the Council on Road Traffic Safety in the Municipality Ohrid, and in one term there is a membership in the Managing Board of the Ohrid Summer Festival.
The wide variety of engagements of Mr. Tuntev has been enlarged in the field of writing and journalistic activity, so he has published several scientific papers and professional works and books.
Mr. Tuntev is married and has two children.
