Today, the Director General of the Civil Aviation Agency Dragi Stojanoski held a working meeting with the Director General of Public Security Bureau at MIA, Aleksandar Janev.

Stojanoski and Janev defined the future steps of collaboration in order to make the most of the use of resources in both institutions, increasing the safety in aviation as well as protecting safety, property and privacy of the citizens.

Along these lines, the complete process for transition of the Ministry of Interior Affairs aircraft into the civil registry was agreed, which would ensure independent technical inspection in accordance with all international civil aviation standards.

 

Also, the need for strengthen of the safety audit of unmanned aircraft (drones) was noted, establishing standardized procedures for managing the need for intervention, in order increasing the personal safety of citizens as well as protection of their property and privacy.

After the performed analysis of the aviation operational expert personnel at the CAA and at the Ministry of Interior Affairs, their training and age limit, the two Directors General stated the urgency of commencing the process for establishing of an aviation personnel training centre within the MIA with utmost priority, initially for the purposed of both institutions and with a possibility of future extension to the needs of other state bodies.

The topic between Stojanoski and Janev was closure of certain issues that have been procrastinating for several years, leading to the successful implementation of the “One Stop Security” Project, which aims to enable passengers departing from the two state airports with only one security check to their final destination, avoiding additional checks at transit airports.
